Manager, Warehouse Operations

The Manager, Warehouse Operations is responsible for direct supervision of all operations within the Nobel Biocare Distribution Center US. 

Accountabilities:

  • Direct reports: (2) Warehouse supervisors
  • Ensures the right staffing and competence level in the Warehouse group; manages proper headcount of warehouse clerks.
  • Initiates and drives continuous improvement of Warehouse Management processes in order to ensure daily management metrics are met and exceeded.
  • Collaborate with the Director of CWUS to continuously develop and re-engineer the Warehouse Management processes using appropriate enablers such as, but not limited to, SAP R/3 Warehouse Management, RFID, and bar-coding in order to improve customer satisfaction, quality, productivity and cost.
  • Contribute to the creation and fulfillment of the financial budget for the Operations Warehouse Distribution Center - US, including expense per cost place, investment and personnel budget.
  • Perform annual appraisals with personnel within the department.
  • Daily reporting on agreed warehouse operation KPI's.
  • Oversee order execution (packing, shipping, and picking) of orders.
  • Interact frequently with Warehouse Supervisors regarding Warehouse Clerk updates (i.e. training, performance reviews, attendance, vacation requests, etc.)
  • Ensure that all customer requirements are met on a daily basis. 

Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain management, or equivalent.
  • 5 years progressive work experience in Warehouse Operations;  Or a combination of years of experience and education.
  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) and Forklift certification or equivalent.
  • Good knowledge and experience in using SAP R/3 Warehouse Management module.

Critical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • In-depth functional skills in Warehouse Management processes.
  • Good general leadership skills.  Should have proven previous leadership experience from similar type of positions.
  • Strong performance focus.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

Critical Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Manager position - with similar size of 20 or more employees.
  • Good knowledge and experience using continuous improvement, TQM, Lean techniques in order to improvement Warehouse Management processes.

Success Factors and Key Challenges:

  • Formulates and recommends programs with the Distribution Center that guide Nobel Biocare in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
  • Directs and coordinates activities in order to achieve customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness.
